How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign are
that exert pressure on your teeth. Over time, the aligners will move your teeth and correct any bite issues. You’ll wear each aligner set for about one to two weeks before moving onto the next one in the series. How Long is Invisalign Treatment?
Invisalign treatment for adults usually takes about 12 months. Keep in mind that each patient has different orthodontic needs. In general, your treatment time will depend on your age and the condition of your teeth.
Our dentists use advanced computer imaging technology to plan your treatment.
What are the Advantages of Invisalign?
Many of our adult patients prefer the look of Invisalign to traditional metal braces. Invisalign is so subtle that most people aren’t able to tell that you are wearing them unless they get up close.
Invisalign also makes it easy to maintain good oral hygiene. This is because you don’t have to brush and floss around wires and brackets. Instead, you are able to remove your Invisalign aligners so you can brush and floss with ease.
Patients with traditional metal braces must avoid foods that are hard to chew and/or sticky. But since Invisalign is removable, you don’t have to worry about changing your diet.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
Many factors determine the cost, including the length and difficulty of treatment. In general, the cost of Invisalign is like that of traditional braces. But it’s important to remember that each patient is different.
For an accurate estimate, you’ll need to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists.
How Often Must I See My Invisalign Dentist?
You’ll need to see your dentist every four to six weeks during Invisalign treatment. During your appointment, we’ll make sure that your teeth are moving according to plan. Only then will you be able to receive your new set of Invisalign aligners.
Since you won’t have braces or brackets, visits are often shorter than if you had traditional braces.
How Long Do I Have to Wear Invisalign Each Day?
To get the full benefit of Invisalign treatment, you’ll need to wear your aligners for about 20 to 22 hours a day. This means that you should only remove your Invisalign aligners to eat, drink, brush, or floss.
Does Invisalign Hurt?
Invisalign exerts pressure on your teeth. As such, you will experience some dental discomfort in the first couple of days of wearing a new set of aligners. But many of our patients feel that the temporary pain is worth having straighter teeth. After all, the pressure you feel on your teeth is a sign that they are moving according to plan.
We recommend taking over-the-counter pain medications like ibuprofen.
Are There Any Dietary Restrictions During Treatment?
No, there are no dietary restrictions. But you’ll need to brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in your mouth.
How Can I Maintain a Straight Smile After Invisalign?
It’s not uncommon for teeth to move a little after
. This is why your dentist will create a special retainer for you to wear as directed.Request an Appointment With Us
