3 Benefits of ZOOM®! Teeth Whitening

Benefits Of Zoom Teeth Whitening

Do you wish you had whiter teeth? ZOOM®! teeth whitening gives you a noticeably brighter smile in as little as one appointment, and our cosmetic dentists offer it in our office! If you want a white smile that looks natural, continue reading to learn 3 of the benefits of ZOOM! teeth whitening.

1. Fast Results

Unlike over-the-counter whitening, our dentists will be able to give you a noticeably whiter smile in under an hour. As the name suggests, ZOOM! teeth whitening is a quick procedure that’s easy to slip into a busy schedule. We recommend scheduling a consultation with our dentists to determine if ZOOM! whitening is right for your smile.

Depending on the severity of tooth discoloration, our dentists may recommend porcelain veneers or other cosmetic dentistry options. For example, professional teeth whitening may not be the best choice for discoloration caused by dental fluorosis (mottled teeth caused by excessive fluoride intake). Dental veneers, however, would cover the fronts of your teeth so you can smile and talk with confidence.

For slight tooth discoloration, our cosmetic dentists will paint a whitening varnish on the surface of your teeth. Next, we will apply a quick-drying sealant. Once 30 minutes have passed, we will wipe away the varnish to reveal noticeably whiter teeth.

If you have severe tooth discoloration, our dentists will break up your appointment into 3 sessions, each lasting 15 minutes. After applying whitening gel to your teeth, our dentists will shine a special lamp onto the surface to accelerate teeth bleaching. The light breaks down the hydrogen peroxide in the gel to lift tooth stains and whiten teeth.

To help you pass the time during your appointment, we recommend bringing your phone or another device that lets you listen to music. Once the procedure is over, we’ll give you a special care package so you can relieve sensitivity and maintain your white smile from home.

2. Can Whiten Teeth at Home

Many people want whiter teeth, but not everyone has the time to spend multiple whitening appointments in the dentist’s chair. Depending on the extent of tooth discoloration, our dentists may be able to give you supplies so you can try whitening your teeth at home.

If this is the case, we will take impressions of your teeth to create a custom whitening tray that perfectly fits your teeth. Whitening teeth at home means you’ll be able to whiten your teeth when it’s most convenient for you.

While there are plenty of over-the-counter at-home whitening options, they aren’t as effective as professional teeth whitening. Over-the-counter whitening products can erode your tooth enamel and even make your teeth more sensitive in the long run. With our at-home whitening treatment, you can experience results that don’t damage your teeth.

3. Great for Sensitive Teeth

Just because you have sensitive teeth, doesn’t mean you can’t try whitening them. The whitening gel and varnish we use are specially formulated to not irritate teeth and gums. While some of our patients experience “zingers” or brief flashes of pain during treatment, many are willing to experience temporary discomfort if it means having whiter teeth.

Also, keep in mind that different people have different pain tolerances. One person’s negative experience doesn’t necessarily predict how you’ll react to ZOOM! whitening.

If you wish to stop treatment at any time, let our team know. If you have sensitive teeth, we are willing to work at a pace that’s comfortable for you. That way, you can feel in control of your treatment.
